Hardwick Community Gardens

Started in 2004, The Center for an Agricultural Economy (CAE) established and created a vibrant community garden space that includes a picnic table, tools, shelter and walking paths along the Lamoille River, on land owned and maintained by the Town of Hardwick.

The allotment-style Hardwick Community Garden attracts a wonderful range of both new and seasoned gardeners from the area, made up of families, individuals and school groups. Local organizations like Hardwick Area Transition Town (HATT) also use the garden as a backdrop to community events like potlucks and educational gatherings. The CAE has promoted the Garden for its educational, recreational, social and food security benefits.

We are excited to announce that we are embarking on a partnership with Hardwick Elementary's OSSU REACH, an after-school program, to grow pumpkins for the annual Pumpkin Walk that is sponsored by Hardwick Trails. Stay tuned for updates as we move forward!

Registration is now open for the 2010 season.

An individual plot is approximately 20 X 30 and is $20. A limited number of half-sized plots are available as well as sliding scale rates.
