Farm Business Advising
CAE's Food Systems Growth Advising is a farm and food business advising program to improve the economic viability of northern Vermont’s farms. We work one-on-one with farmers, providing specialized support and business planning assistance to help farmers find new wholesale markets, improve cash flow and achieve personal and professional goals necessary to sustain them and their farms. We support and advise farms in all stages of development.
The program seeks to enhance not just the profitability of farms, but also to create new linkages in the region’s local food system. Specialized support may include strategic planning, farm financial planning, bookkeeping and accounting, and refinement of production systems. Food Systems Growth Advisingutilizes skilled program staff, business consultants and veteran growers to support the development of business plans with program participants.
CAE is a partner in the Vermont Farm and Forest Viability Program (VFFVP), a network of service providers that supports Vermont farms and value-added food businesses. As a farm or value-added business working with CAE, you could be supported by VFFVP if you meet eligibility requirements.
