Building a Sustainable Agricultural Business

The Vermont Small Business and Development Center (VSBDC), along with The Center for an Agricultural Economy, invite you to a 4 session, 12 hour long course for new and experienced farmers and other agricultural entrepeneurs and those looking to enter this field. 

Taught by Steve Paddock, the VtSBDC Assistant State Director of Agribusiness and John Mandeville, the Director of the Incubator Without Walls Program at Lyndon State College, the sessions will be held at the office of The Center for an Agricultural Economy at 41 S. Main Street, Hardwick, Vermont.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Identifying Values-What's Important to You?
  • Vision, Mission and Goals-Where Do You Want to Go?
  • Strategic Planning and Evaluation-What Routes Can You Take to Get Where You Want to Go?
  • Present, Implement and Monitor Your Business Plan-Which Route Will You Take and How Will You Check Your Progress Along the Way?

The cost is $450, which includes all materials, but individuals whose family income qualifies them for low or moderate income may have access to a scholorship that would lower the cost to $25.
