Could this be you? The VT FARM FUND is an innovative revolving loan fund, managed by the Center for an Ag Economy.

We’re looking for a parttime loan fund manager – working with farm borrowers, keeping our social media up to date, newsletters and outreach, as well as administrative duties to assist our Advisory Board. The Vermont Farm Fund is a program of The Center for an Agricultural Economy. In partnership with Pete’s Greens, we provide no-hassle, friendly-term loans to Vermont farmers and food producers. A true revolving loan fund, as the community of recipients pays back their loans, funds are replenished for the next cycle of borrowers.

This is a perfect position for a well-rounded self-starter who enjoys responsibility, attention to detail, and creative marketing. With a minimal schedule, flexible hours, and the ability to work remotely, this job is perfect for a free-lancer, someone with another part-time job, or an individual looking to balance the requirements of family and work.

Necessary Skills

  • Financial savvy for examining and evaluating financial documents and business plans.
  • Attention to financial and procedural detail for generating loan documents and financial reports (no bookkeeping is required).
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Photoshop (or equivalent), WordPress, and e-newsletter packages. Bonus, if you’ve worked with Salesforce and/or loan software.
  • Ability to set priorities, meet commitments, and efficiently manage time while working independently.Vermont Farm Fund - Emergency and Innovation Agricultural Loans
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in a broad range of applications, from borrower communications to marketing materials.
  • Responsiveness and customer service mindset a must.

The Vermont Farm Fund is a program of the Center for an Agricultural Economy (CAE), in partnership with Pete’s Greens. CAE is a not-for-profit organization working to build a healthy, regenerative local food system in the Northeast Kingdom. CAE also owns and operates the Vermont Food Venture Center, a food-processing facility, food business incubator, and regional food hub. The VFF Program Manager will be contracted by and coordinate activities with CAE.
