Six OSSU representatives attended the VT Farm to School Conference on November 2nd and 3rd. The group included Hardwick Elementary School Food Service Manager Val Hussey who accepted Hunger Free VT’s Innovation and Advocacy Award, recognizing the Hardwick kitchen team for, “helping their school nutrition program expand student access to quality school meals as well as elevate their community’s image of school meals and school food service personnel.” Congratulations and thank you to Val Hussey, Ruth McAllister, Frances Miller and parent volunteer Deb Wilson for their dedication to nourishing our youth!

Other OSSU attendees at the Conference were Leslie Stancliff and Maureen Hill from Wolcott School, John Kordet from Woodbury School, and Reeve Basom and Bethany Dunbar from The Center for an Agricultural Economy.
