We hope you will join us in congratulating Annie Rowell, our Program Manager, who will be leaving us in late February for a new position. We are really thrilled about the opportunity that her new role will afford her – and the state of Vermont! The position that she’ll be moving to is a testament to all the work that she and the CAE team have done for farm to institution in the last year, and she will be able to strategically leverage her knowledge to make changes on a grander scale. She is the NEW Vermont First Coordinator for the state of Vermont, for Sodexo. Sodexo is a food service company that currently has the contract for all Vermont state colleges and other institutions, including schools, across the state.  Sodexo has been working with the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets to create a specific purchasing and sourcing plan to meet their commitment to buying local first. We are excited that Annie will be the one who is leading this charge, and bringing even more locally grown products to those places that Sodexo serves.

Way to go, Annie!

Back at the ranch, our very own Alissa Matthews will be stepping into a full time role, moving the Just Cut farm products forward, working with farmers and our institutional partners. This year, we will also be welcoming a new CAE Kitchen Crew Supervisor, Kyle Gilbert, who will take the lead in managing the operations of production at the Food Venture Center. Stay tuned for more!

We wish Annie all the best in this new and exciting role, which can advance her own passion for local food and the CAE’s mission as well!
