CAE hires Facilities Manager for the Venture Center ~

The Center for an Agriculture Economy has hired Connor Gorham, formerly Professional Production Associate, to fill the role of Food Venture Center facilities manager. Mr. Gorham started his role January 1, and has moved into his new office and systems with energy and enthusiasm. Mr. Gorham brings a wealth of experience in food safety, food production, and business incubation to the role. His previous role with the Center was focused on working with clients in our kitchen spaces; advising on recipe scale up, assisting with critical control points and operating procedures, and tracking inventory and equipment.

 

 

Prior to working for CAE, Mr. Gorham worked at Vermont Soy, as a production manager, where he was responsible for the formulation of tofu and soy milk, staffing of production, shipping and receiving management as well as occasional outreach and events. Mr. Gorham brings a Bachelors degree from New England Culinary Institute, as well as ServSafe Instructor/Proctor Certifications and Better Process Control Certifications to this role. In addition, he has presented at NOFA, Farm to Plate, Jay Peak Farm and Food Summit, as well as led food safety themed workshops here at the Vermont Food Venture Center.

The Center for an Agricultural Economy owns and operates the Vermont Food Venture Center, a 15,000 sq foot multi-use shared food processing facility. The VFVC is a food business incubator, teaching kitchen, and community resource in Northern Vermont, serving farmers, value-added producers, and hunger-relief organizations.
